It is no secret that companies like Xiaomi, Oppo and Vivo are trying to establish an upper-hand in the budget smartphone market in India. As a part of this, Xiaomi had launched the Redmi series long back and Oppo did join the game with Realme last year. Now, as per the latest reports, Oppo has launched Realme 3 in India — a device that offers a lot more than its predecessor.
The core motto of the Realme series — or any other series in the sector — is bringing high-end features at a lower price tag. In the case of Realme 3, things seem to get better. Compared to Realme 1, the first-ever one to be launched under the banner, the new device packs so many flagship-level features. To start with, it has a waterdrop notch on top of the 6.22” LCD display.
While the waterdrop display isn’t anything new, Realme 3 would be one of the few devices to bring such a feature at a low price point. Such a notch was last spotted in OnePlus 6T, following the debut by Oppo in the F9. On related note, it has become common for Oppo, Vivo and OnePlus — owned by the same parent firm — to tackle new features within devices.
Coming to the performance sector, Realme 3 isn’t a deal-breaker either. It comes with a MediaTek Helio P70 Processor and 4GB of RAM. Running on ColorOS 6.0, the device is up to date, as it has got Android v9.0 Pie. Unlike the typical skin on Oppo devices, however, Realme 3 tends to have a slant towards the so-called near-Stock Android experience boasted by companies.
With all these charm, Realme 3 is available for a shockingly affordable price of around $125. This aggressive line of pricing should make this device a real competitor to a number of devices from Xiaomi and others.
